DATABASE DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE
ITC Networks has extensive experience designing and managing complex databases and developing database-driven applications for use in Internet, Intranet, Extranet, Client/Server, Desktop and Wireless environments. We also have experience integrating with a variety of databases and ERP systems on multiple platforms.
When designing a database, developers must have in mind several issues:
- robustness: the database should be able to resist crashes, data losses and corruption
- accurateness: the data contained should be as clear as possible, with no useless redundancies and no duplication
- better performance: the database should be fast and respond to queries quickly
- security: it should be able to withstand malicious attacks
- easy maintenance: changes or updates should be easy and fast to implement
- easy support: problems must be easily identifiable and solved
We have designed large-scale, distributed databases on the SQL Server and Oracle database systems. These high capacity systems have been designed to handle thousands of users and hundreds of thousands of transactions.
We have built sophisticated applications that combine a user friendly interface with dynamic data from these databases. We have also developed applications needing tight integration with existing databases such as Informix, Sybase and DB2.
Most of the projects we have worked on have a database system in the back-end. These include E-commerce, auction marketplace, search engine, custom ERP system, inventory management, order management, sales tracking & forecasting, bill of materials and knowledge base.
